Red Earth Yoga Center (REYC) is a yoga studio dedicated to the transformative and healing practice of yoga, particularly, the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga, or Yoga Therapy, but now offering many other styles as well to suit the needs of our growing yoga community. We welcome you to our studio and look forward to supporting you on your journey.

WE OFFER SEVERAL WAYS TO BEGIN LEARNING AND PRACTICING ASHTANGA YOGA.
Introduction To Ashtanga Yoga
This monthly, 4-week course is for those who want to learn the fundamental aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. The basic technique for breathing, meditative gazing (drishti), & internal core-strength (bandhas) are covered. Students will be guided through the initial sequence of postures building onto the practice each week. The course provides a great foundation for transitioning into the Mysore practice. Mysore Style classes
Mysore style is for everyone and is one of our most accessible classes. It is for students of all levels and is a great place for anyone to start. Whether you are young or old, beginner or long time practitioner, flexible or stiff, strong or not, this is the best class. The only thing required to attend is a desire to learn & practice yoga! Attendance to the "Intro To Ashtanga" Course encouraged if you are new to the practice.
Guided (Led) Ashtanga Yoga
The first (Primary) series is also called Yoga Chikitsa, which means yoga therapy. It is intended to realign the spine, detoxify the body, and build strength, flexibility and stamina. Approximately 75 minutes for Full Series, 60 minutes for Half Primary Series. The series includes Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, Seated Poses, Inversions, Backbends, and Relaxation.
Guided classes are excellent for those new to yoga. Beginners are given a sense of the structure of the practice and modifications are given. "Intro To Ashtanga Course encouraged, but not required to attend this class.
VINYASA FLOW CLASSES ARE ALSO OFFERED AT OUR STUDIO
A Vinyasa class is refered to as a "flow" class because of the constant moving your body flows through, using your breath as a guide. (Yes, Ashtanga Yoga is also a vinyasa based class for those of you wondering.) In these classes you can expect plenty of movement, your body flowing through each pose on every inhalation and each exhalation. This class is perfect for beginners and consists of deep static stretches held several breaths to ensure correct form. Props such as blankets, straps, and blocks are often used so that the poses are most effective. This class will consist of abdominal work, balancing postures, deep hip openers, detoxifying twists, calming seated postures and inversions. Modifications will always be available. Vinyasa Classes are not heated unless specifically mentioned. (NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY)
